You never cease to amaze me with your loving...Wow. You never cease to amaze me with your loving heart. It would be so easy to say, "oh well, we just move on without the birth family". But good for you for hanging in there. My dad abandoned me as an infant and yet my mom continued to take me around his side of the family. She still goes for all holidays in fact. I'm so grateful to have those people in my life even if my dad is a loser. When w...Wow, I hadn't even thought about that. When we were considering adoption I felt the same way about the "power", that the birth parents had it in the beginning, but once the baby was legally a part of our family that power would shift. I can totally see your point though.
